Rolling Stones Concerts 2013

Announcing Rolling Stones Concerts 2013

Satisfaction is now here  ..... for Stones fans. The expected announcement of Rolling Stones Concerts 2013 starting early May is here.  As of April 3, there are 9 scheduled concerts with tickets available for eight of them. The Tour is scheduled to open in LA at the Staples Center but a date has not been finalized due to Lakers, Clippers and Kings playoffs schedule uncertainty.

Why does it take so long to announce a Rolling Stones tickets sale?

In the case of the Stones, they didn't have to go searching for venues, the places were calling them left and right. But a tour is never announced until all the contracts are signed and dates set, in other words until all the ducks are lined up in a row. Some tours are announced up to 6 months ahead of time, others like what the Stones will be doing announce and the tour begins within 6 weeks.

Of course in the case of the Rolling Stones, they had to decided if they really wanted to do a tour. You got the idea if you watched the Prudential show either live or on Pay-per-View that they would probably do a tour but some of the comments Mick Jagger made to the crowd.

Another problem was the conflicts with the arenas and NBA and NHL playoffs.  all the main areaa you would expect to see a Stones concert have NBA or NHL teams in the playoffs.

How long between the announcement and tickets going on sale?

Usually it is about a week in cases like the Rolling Stones concerts 2013 when there is a short time between th announcement and the tour. When a tour is announced months ahead of time, it will be several weeks. often the offer pre-sales to fan clubs first before opening to the public.

The initial batch of Rolling Stones concerts 2013 the announcement cam on Wednesday and the first four venues opened their pre-sale on Friday with tickets going on sale on Monday.  This is a quick turnaround.

Why do people buy tickets before they go on sale to the public?

In the case of the Stones, it is obvious, they sell out in 5 minutes once they go on sale. Otherwise many folks just like to get their tickets ahead of time, to save on stress when clicking away when the tickets goon sale. There are fans who have particular seats, like front row seats, or sections they like to sit in with good view of the stage, or the need aisle seats. Fans with large groups of more than four people might want to buy early to get their seats together. Some fans are just obsessive, and want that ticket in their hand, no mater what the cost, before the rest of the world starts grabbing them.
